Not sure if this is just confirmation bias in action but for anyone struggling, try out those other cores! Also BACK UP YOUR SAVE cause some cores use different save types and can make you lose yours. Sure enough, I boot up the game using Beetle GBA and get the Toppling March combo in ~10 minutes and get multiple 15 hits on Piggy Guys immediately. He also relayed a message from kogitah saying that they used Beetle on libretro. Alternatively, you could also use the GBA emulator for Mother 1, but either way, Google is your friend when searching for roms, as they can't be shared on Reddit. I asked Ness64 and he told me he never got one on mGBA either. Look up how to set up an NES Emulator for Earthbound Beginings/Mother 1, a SNES Emulator for Earthbound/Mother 2, and a GBA Emulator for Mother 3. I thought maybe it was an emulator issue cause both Bizhawk and the RetroArch core i was using are both mGBA.
I didn't test any other songs really besides Strong One (Masked Man) and that songs hit window is massive by comparison and I could easily just get a 16 going frame by frame. Most songs in the game get a smaller window starting at hit 10 and these ones it all drops down to 1 frame. I tested this myself and it seems like all the lowest earned songs (Bothersome Guys, Piggy Guys, Toppling March, and Tough Zombeat) all have this same problem. Someone mentioned on one of the comments it seemed "impossible" to get, even going frame by frame. So I haven't mastered this yet, but wanted to chime in on the 16-hit combos with what I've learned tonight.
